The Story Of Islamic Center of New Rochelle
Members of TASMINA (The Association of Sri Lankan Muslims In North America) in New Rochelle started an Islamic Center in the year 2010 in a small apartment with around 40 members. This center continuously grew in numbers, more than double since then and the need of moving to another location became a priority among the members of this congregation.
Welcome To Islamic Center of New Rochelle
Establishing a center in New Rochelle is an urgent need among Muslim community because there is no other Masjid to conduct five times prayers in the immediate vicinity. Therefore ICON identified the need for this great service and implemented a plan with the vision of establishing a permanent place for “House of Allah”.
Vision
Our aim is to provide service to our local Muslim community alongside others in our neighborhood. We are trying to help enrich our Muslim community by providing knowledge on Islam and encouraging praying together.
Mission
Alhamdulillah, with our community's ample effort, in Ramadan 1434 AH the ICON was finally able to purchase the property at 470 North Avenue in New Rochelle with the generous contributions from many Muslims around the world.
